I have now been in this country for 7 weeks and so far i have got, a house, a bank account, a phone, a girlfriend and now a Job. The interview i had on Friday with a digital marketing agency went extremely well and they offered me the role. To say im excited would be a mild understatement. For once im actually looking forward to going to work and being challenged, feels like forever since i’ve been challenged in a marketing capacity. The company seems really great, the pay is what i was after and the people who interviewed me seemed really nice i.e My new boss. First day is this Monday and have to be there at 10am to sign the usual HR papers, company policy introduction etc etc. I really am excited about starting and looking forward to Monday for so many reasons. Another one being the return of my girlfriend. Didnt really realise how much i missed her until little things happen like today, awesome rainy day where if she was here we would have hung out all day watching movies and stuff, but instead shes in europe and im bored in my house. I walked outside today once to find a dry cleaner to get my suit ready for Monday.. that was it

Did some shopping yesterday which included buying an iphone, some new shoes, and writing a wishlist of things im going to buy with my first pay, including TV, shelves for my room, some new clothes and heaps of other little bits and pieces to get my room up to normal living conditions.Although i have held of this long its actually quite annoying how much i like my iphone. Today was a perfect example, i wanted to find a dry cleaner so typed it into yelp app, it came up with one a few hundred meters down the road and an augmented map actually pointed me in the right direction, very cool indeed. Not sure what to do with my ipod touch now, might try and sell it but its so scratched, might just keep it for now.

Watched the Argentina game last night, overall they did enough to get through but im not excited at all about the way they are playing. Uruguay could have won 3-0 if they had someone that could finish, or if Forlan was playing slightly better. Messi did nothing again and Heinze has to be the worst defender ive ever seen, exactly what made him a has been at Real Madrid and Man Utd. Maradona will probably stay on as coach into the worldcup but i think they need some new defenders recruited as the existing team is not strong enough to do anything special next year.

So todays thursday Night, plans for the rest of my holiday before i start work are: Tomorrow go buy some other things i need, saturday going to another one of those crazy arthouse parties and then sunday just relaxing before work. Monday will be first day at work followed by making my way out to JFK to pick up my girlfriend. A part of me is sad that now i have to work, but another larger part likes the idea of going somewhere everyday and my life feeling a bit more normal from now on. The money will be great and im sure ill find 101 ways to spend it.
